Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Haansi provides an operational-memory platform that connects to the tools your team already uses — such as Slack, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, and Google Workspace — to build a searchable, organization-specific knowledge base and answer questions across those sources.

This policy explains what information we access when you connect those tools, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Haansi web application and to our integrations, including the Haansi Slack app.

2. Information we collect

Account information: your name, email address, and the organization you belong to, provided when you sign up or are invited.

Integration content: when an authorized administrator connects a third-party tool, Haansi accesses content from that tool according to the permissions (scopes) granted during authorization. You choose which tools to connect, and you can disconnect at any time.

Usage information: basic logs about how the service is used (for example, queries made and features accessed) to operate, secure, and improve the product.

3. Slack data we access and why

When you install the Haansi Slack app, we request only the permissions needed to capture context and answer questions inside Slack. Specifically:

• Channel content and history (channels:read, channels:history, groups:read, groups:history) — to read messages in channels the app can access so we can build searchable context and answer questions.
• Channel join (channels:join) — to let the app join public channels you choose, so it can capture history without a manual invitation to each channel.
• Message posting (chat:write) — to post answers and replies back into Slack when you ask the app a question.
• User and profile information (users:read, users:read.email) — to identify who said what and to match identities across your connected tools.
• Workspace information (team:read) — to associate captured data with the correct workspace.
• Search (search:read.public, search:read.users) — to search across accessible Slack content when answering questions.

4. How we use information

We use the information above to operate the service: to build your organization's knowledge graph, answer questions, power search and expertise mapping, and deliver the features you enable.

To generate answers, relevant context may be sent to large-language-model providers acting as our sub-processors (currently Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and OpenRouter). These providers process the content to return a response and, under their API terms, do not use it to train their general models.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your private content for advertising.

5. How we share information

We share information only with service providers (sub-processors) that help us run the platform, under contractual confidentiality and security obligations. These include cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services) and the large-language-model providers listed above.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users, or in connection with a business transfer. We will not otherwise share your content with third parties.

6. Security

We encrypt data in transit using TLS and encrypt access credentials at rest. Each organization's data is logically isolated and protected by database-level access controls (row-level security), so one organization cannot access another's data.

Access to production systems is restricted and audited. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.

7. Data retention and deletion

We retain integration content for as long as the integration is connected and your account is active, so the service can answer questions from it.

You can disconnect any integration at any time from your Haansi settings, which stops further data collection from that source. Deleting your organization removes its associated data from our systems. You may also request deletion of your data by emailing support@haansi.co, and we will process the request within a reasonable period.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@haansi.co. If you are an end user within an organization that uses Haansi, some requests may need to be directed to that organization as the data controller.

9. International data transfers

Haansi operates infrastructure in the United States, and information may be processed there and in other locations where our sub-processors operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
